What is Livingstone Museum?

The Livingstone Museum, established in 1934, is Zambia’s oldest and largest museum and is located in the heart of Livingstone near Victoria Falls. It houses a remarkable collection of David Livingstone’s personal belongings—clothes, books and letters—alongside extensive archaeology, ethnography and natural history exhibits spanning from the Stone Age to modern Zambia. There is a children’s corner on the upper gallery with artefacts made by children, and the museum has a collection of old steam trains that is particularly entertaining for young children. Entry is affordable, and a guided tour is often included.
